Tuesday evening saw the Robins take on Stowmarket Town at the Demcom Stadium, writes Gary Creak.
Ely had already won the away fixture 2-1 at Stowmarket.
The Robins fielded nearly the same side that had beaten Cornard Utd 4-2 on Saturday.
However, in poor weather conditions the away side adapted quicker than the Robins and found themselves a goal up after a effort was rebounded and put away on seven minutes.
On 27 minutes, Robins found themselves 2-0 down as Stowmarket scored a header from a corner.
Ely had chances but found the away keeper in fine form and the half-time score was 0-2.
Ely manager Guy Habbin did his half-time talk and this seemed to wake up the team.
On 58 minutes, Aaron Hamer halved the deficit and Ely started pushing for the equaliser which eventually came via Bubba Camara on 83 minutes.
Both teams went for the winner but despite some good chances the score remained 2-2 at full-time. Robins travel to Fakenham Town on Saturday. The team won the home fixture 5-2.
