A girls team from Witchford has won the league in their first season of competitive football.
The U12B team secured the top position in Alan Boswell Cambridge Girls U12B league with two games to spare.
"We have only lost two league games all season and have not lost since before Christmas. We have also won every single home game we have played," said joint managers Craig Finbow and Jamie Mott.
It's an amazing achievement from the girls, having scored 48 league goals and only conceded 13.
Defence has been an amazing foundation, and top scorer is Hattie Ashton with 34 goals in 19 games.
The girls won the league by winning at home against third place Netherton with a goal in the last 15 seconds to win 1-0 and clinch the title.
"Girl’s football is really starting to explode with more teams being started up in multiple ages groups," said Craig.
"This group of girls have won the league playing football the right way, in a positive environment, and we have had other league managers congratulating the girls as “the best team in the league that play football with a smile on their face and a positive attitude”.
"Overall Jamie and I are just incredibly proud of the girls for their hard work, team spirit, and amazing football attitude towards learning and bettering themselves. Its fitting this season has ended with a trophy!"
