There were celebrations for the Ely City Crusaders Whites U15s team who won the league and cup double.
Having already won the U15s league knockout cup last month, Ely City Crusaders U15s went one better and won the Cambridgeshire Bluebird League with two games to spare.
A 4-0 away win over Royston confirmed Ely as champions after a stellar season. With more than 90 goals scored and the best defensive record in the league, Ely have reaped the rewards of an outstanding season.
Manager Jon Cutter was delighted with his team. He said: “We were relegated last season but have bounced back in the best possible way, with a few additions to the squad we have become an unstoppable team.
"Our focus has been on scoring goals and trying to play football the right way. Winning the cup was an amazing experience, but winning the league on top of that was the icing on the cake.
"Every player has improved this year and I’m over the moon they have reaped the rewards, hopefully they will remember this season for years to come.”
