East Cambs Basketball Club are celebrating a double victory after wins at the Central Venue Competition League and end of season tournament.
The under 14 team were crowned league and tournament champions on March 17 at Long Road College.
It follows a competition in the Cambridge Cats Central Venue League, a tough season which began in October.
The team won the league with only two games lost, heading into the end of season tournament as favourites.
A close semi-final against Cambridge Cats 1 saw the Warriors win the game 17-14 in a tough encounter.
The final against Linton was a different story with the Warriors in front from to start finish with an impressive 39-25.
The Warrior’s Caleb Vickers was awarded most valuable player of the game and the tournament following an outstanding game on both ends of the floor, leading all scorers with 14 points.
Jacob Knapper, Aiden McLean, and Sam Matsumoto were also promoted to the league All-Star team selected by club coaches and tournament organisers.
It's great to see the journey of these young men this season.
They have worked hard in training and have gelled as a team on and off the court. All the hard work has paid off with them winning not only the league but also the end of season tournament.
To have three of the boys voted as All Stars is fantastic and for Caleb who is one of the members of the under 12 team.
