Details of Ely's annual fireworks evening have already been announced and now the organising committee have launched the event's guy competition.
Set to take place on Saturday, November 2 at Cherry Hill, visitors can expect another "spectacular evening" with a display from the Crazy Fireworks team set against the backdrop of Ely Cathedral.
The guy competition is open to all primary schools in the area (one entry per school) and uniformed organisations aimed at primary school aged children (one entry per section/group).
All entries will receive £25 and the winning group will be presented with a first prize of £100.
Entry forms are available via email: pr@ecet.org.uk. All guys will need to be delivered to Cherry Hill Park between midday and 4pm on Saturday, November 2. Entrants should go along to the Information Tent for directions. Judging will take place at 6pm.
This year's display will include fairground rides, refreshment stalls and the Scouts' 'big barbecue'.
The Ely Community Events Team (ECET), who organise the annual event, are partnering with BBC Radio Cambridgeshire with Louise Hulland as guest presenter for the night.
Advance tickets are £8 per adult, £4 per child and £20 per family and available from the following outlets.
Ely Tourist Information Centre, 29 St Mary’s Street; Hive Leisure Centre, Leisure Village; Ely Fudge Company, 31 Market Place; Toppings Bookshop, 9 High Street; Atrium Fitness, 39 Newnham Street; Littleport Bargain Centre, 9 Main Street, Littleport and Jak Hibs, 33 High Street, Soham.
Payment at Ely Tourist Information Centre Hive Leisure Centre and Ely Fudge will be by card only, and by cash only at the other named outlets. Additionally, that all advance sales will close at midday on November 2.
Admission will start from 5pm onwards, with the bonfire set to be lit at 6.30pm and the display is scheduled to begin at 7pm.
