Mystery surrounds the identity of a human leg bone that was found in a garden in Ely a fortnight ago.
Further tests on DNA from the fibular confirmed that it belonged to a man, however police said "there’s no match on the DNA or missing persons database".
The latest update from Cambridgeshire Constabulary comes after the bone was found in a garden in John Amner Close, off Lynn Road, on September 24.
Further investigations at the site are ongoing and, therefore, a heavy police presence - including forensic tents - remains at the scene since.
On October 8, a police spokesperson said: "We have concluded the bone came from a man and is less than 100 years old".
It comes after reports that officers were also investigating the garden of an adjacent property.
A local resident said on October 3 that "police seem to be investigating two gardens next to each other and there is police tape in both and a tent up in the neighbouring property".
At the time, they added: "The property is in a quiet cul-de-sac and people are walking past like everything's normal."
