A Soham man has been charged with a fraud offence after allegedly abusing his position as Power of Attorney to gain £126,000 from a woman’s estate.
Kambiz Akhondi, of Calfe Fen Close, was listed to appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on July 18.
The 58-year-old has been charged with fraud by abuse of position.

Further information on the listing explains that the offence happened between October 24, 2018 and March 17, 2020.
Akhondi is accused of dishonestly abusing his position of Power of Attorney when handling the financial interests of Maud Miller.
The court listing alleges he intended to gain approximately £126,000 Contrary to Sections 1 and 4 of the Fraud Act 2006 from his actions.
Following Thursday’s initial hearing, Akhondi was handed unconditional bail and the case was referred to the crown court.
An upcoming plea and trial preparation hearing is scheduled to take place at Cambridge Crown Court on August 15, 2024.
The court service says Akhondi’s plea is currently indicated as not guilty or none.
