Witchford Village College's class of 2024 celebrated the end of their studies in style last week as the annual prom returned to The Maltings.

A cavalcade of vehicles including two horse-drawn carriages kicked off a night of glitz and glamour on June 27.

There were buses, HGVs, limos, tractors and even a police car, which were all accompanied by music and cheers.

Staff, family and friends lined the roadside as head of school, Richard Auffret greeted students, opening vehicle doors and welcoming them inside.

WVC's catering team excelled with an amazing buffet and students filled the dance floor, which remained packed from start to finish.

Students voted for a range of 'Oscar' categories, clapping and cheering as the names of nominees were announced and the winners strode to collect their awards.

Head of school Richard Auffret said: “We want to congratulate our 2024 Year 11 cohort.

"They have worked hard, but also engaged in the WVC ethos and shown themselves tonight as well-rounded young people.

"They have thoroughly enjoyed themselves with impeccable character and conduct and with their last hurrah did themselves, Witchford and the whole community proud – we can’t wait to see what they go on to achieve.”
