A 55-year-old woman has been banned from driving after she crashed her car while drunk.

Elizabeth Taylor was driving on the A10 on April 28 while she was drunk. 

Cambridgeshire Police officers were called to the road after reports came in that Taylor had managed to crash her Mazda into four other vehicles.

Taylor, of Columbine Road, Ely, then refused to provide a breath sample at the roadside and she was arrested.

While in custody, Taylor provided an evidential reading of 104, which is almost three times the legal limit of 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath.

At Cambridge Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 6, Taylor pleaded guilty to drink driving an she was disqualified for three years and four months.

She must also complete a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.

PC Robert Amos, who investigated, said: "It is lucky she didn't do any harm to road users, or herself.

"There is no excuse for drink driving and we urge anyone who knows a drink driver to report it to us."
