A General Election will be held on July 4, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced yesterday.
As part of Ely Standard's General Election coverage, we'll be speaking to candidates about their priorities for Ely and East Cambridgeshire.
Standing as a candidate for the Reform Party is Ryan Coogan, who hopes to represent Ely and East Cambridgeshire in Parliament after the General Election.
Asked about his priorities for Ely and East Cambridgeshire, he said: "My priority is simple - I want your health, your wealth, your family and happiness to thrive.
"Happiness is something I never really see or hear in politics - but for me it’s very important, there is a plan for all of this, and reform UK makes a clear case for reforming all areas of life to achieve these simple goals.
"From terribly inefficient GP surgeries, to a stagnating economy, cost of living crisis, and mass pile of paperwork and bureaucracy just to keep swimming. There's a plan to reform it all."
Mr Coogan grew up in Soham and attended Soham Village College. He has also worked closely with the community in a number of roles.
