Ely Fire Station hosted a charity car wash last weekend.
The event, which took place on Saturday, June 2, raised £870 for the Firefighters Charity.
Offering specialist, lifelong support for members of the UK fire services community, the Firefighters Charity was formed during the Second World War.
From supporting the bereaved families and orphans of firefighters who laid down their lives during the Blitz, right through to today, the Firefighters Charity supports every member of the UK’s fire services community.
This year, the charity celebrates its 80th anniversary.
Ely On-Call Watch Commander Andy Hill said: “We are very thankful to all who came out to our car wash at Ely Fire Station on Saturday to help us raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity.
"Over £870 was raised for the charity which provides vital support to firefighters and their families across the UK.
"We additionally have a clothes bank at the station which people can donate to all year round and this also goes to the charity.”
