Soham residents have shared their concerns about a sewage leak that Anglian Water say will be repaired next week.
Local people are worried that, with it being half-term and as the footpath gate leads to Qua Fen Common, they have seen adults, children, pushchairs and dogs walk through the area.
"I've seen ducklings eating and playing in the water as well as toddlers jumping in the 'puddle'," said one resident.
They added that the issue was reported to Anglian Water more than a month ago and that "there are no signs to warn people".
A spokesperson for Anglian Water said: "We are dealing with a leak to a pumping main on the footpath leading to Qua Fen Common in Soham, which has left a puddling on the footpath."
The company also stated that "barriers will be put in place from today (Friday May 31) and we have scheduled its repair and reinstatement for early next week.
"While the work is being carried out, alternative access to the common will need to be made from the gate on the opposite side.
"We thank residents for their patience while we carry out this essential work.”
