The Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service has issued advice about chimney safety following a blaze at a house in Soham.
One crew was called to a fire on High Street at 8.45pm on Sunday March 24.
Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a chimney in a house.
They extinguished the blaze and returned to their station by 10.30pm.
A fire service spokesman said: “Please ensure that you get your chimney swept and brick work inspected regularly, at least once a year.
“The debris build-up in the flue can be set alight when heating the home, which could cause a significant fire. Regular chimney maintenance will help prevent this from happening.
“As the cold weather looks to be mostly behind us as we head towards spring, it is important to plan your chimney maintenance in good time.
“It is very important to get your chimney swept before the weather turns later in the year.”
