A third date has been set for a decision to be made on whether one of Europe’s biggest solar farms will be built on the east Cambridgeshire and west Suffolk border.
The Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero has said an announcement on the Sunnica Energy Farm development will be made on March 7, 2024.
“The decision letter and Recommendation Report will be published on this project page once a decision has been made,” the National Infrastructure Planning website says.
The final decision was originally due last September, and this was extended to December.
March 7, 2024 will be the third attempt at announcing the outcome.
The proposed 2,500-acre scheme is set to be located across three sites: Sunnica East Site A, near Isleham; Sunnica East Site B, near Freckenham and Worlington; and Sunnica West Site A, near Chippenham and Kennett.

There has been widespread opposition, with MPs standing alongside campaigners against the proposals.
A spokesperson for Sunnica previously explained the development is needed because the UK has to double the amount of renewable energy it generates by 2050.
