Daniel Bell, theatre producer and director at KD Theatre Productions, writes his December column for the Ely Standard.
I am always fascinated how Ely, our vibrant city, is enriched in history and brimming with creativity.
As we step into December and ‘the season to be jolly’ as the famous song goes, why not take a moment to find out about the array of events that grace our beloved city.
I will of course suggest our eagerly awaited Robin Hood pantomime which is set to grace The Maltings stage and promises to be fun for the entire family throughout December and into the new year.
Additionally, the magical Santa Show at Ben’s Yard promises families a heart-warming experience.
These events are more than glittering spectacles; they symbolise support for our local economy. Each ticket purchased and every smile displayed supports our restaurants, shops and local businesses.
Ely isn't just a city; it's a thriving hub of creativity and entrepreneurship. Our markets showcase locally crafted treasures, from handcrafted goods to delightful treats.
Every visit to these markets, every purchase made from local establishments, nurtures our city's economy, empowering the talented individuals who shape its cultural image!
So what are you waiting for? Come along to one of the many events going on in Ely this festive season.
Champion local talent and businesses. By embracing the festive cheer, you become an integral part of Ely's vibrant presence on the map.
Let's celebrate Ely's exciting offerings! I sure will be! Oh yes I will! (sorry I couldn’t resist!).
