Here are the details of Christmas lights switch-on events in Cambridgeshire. We are happy to add any we may have missed, including those taking place in smaller towns and in villages. Email:


November 24 on the Market Square. Lights switched on at 6.30pm. There is also a Christmas market with food and drink and Christmas crafts on the night and over the weekend of November 25/26. Starts at midday on the Friday. Meet Father Christmas on Friday (1.30pm-6.30pm) and 10am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday.  

St Neots

November 26 on the Market Square, from 12pm-6pm. Family event with stalls and food, and the chance for children to meet Santa. There will also be  stage show and a fireworks display.


Christmas Fayre will take place 10am to 3pm on Sunday, December 10.  Wide range of stalls, delicious seasonal food, live music and dance, children's attractions and interactive family activities. Takes place on Market Place into the High Street, Crescent, Library, Castle, Museum and Horsefair Shopping Centre.


December 2, event starts at 4.30pm. There will be traders in Market Hill Gardens and Santa will switch the lights on. Christmas stalls and music.


December 1, from 5pm-8pm. Christmas market in the town hall and car park next to the Chinese Bridge. Includes a visit from Santa, carols and stalls.


November 25 in Great Whyte and High Street. Opens at 10am and runs till 4pm.


November 24 on Cathedral Square, from 5pm-7.30pm. A celebration for all ages with entertainment and a dazzling lights display.


November 19 on the Market Square, from 12pm. Lots of entertainment, including live performances, food and drink. Lights switched on at 5pm.


There is no lights switch-on event this year but a illuminated festive fair takes place on Market Place on November 24. Lights will be turned on at 5.30pm. 


November 24. Christmas lights will be switched on at 7pm. There is also a Christmas Market on December 3 and a Civic Carol Service on December 17 at St Peter's Church at 6.30pm.
