A Cambridgeshire scout group is celebrating after it received a £1,000 donation following a nomination.
1st Sutton (Cambridgeshire) Scout Group, which runs a scouting group for young people in the Sutton area, was given the donation as part of Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards.
For the fifth year running, members of the public were invited to nominate causes close to their hearts, with 150 awards of £1,000.
Kind-hearted Cambridgeshire residents donated their time and submitted more than 3,000 nominations for charities close to their hearts, with over 170 local causes receiving votes.
Thanking supporters in Cambridgeshire, Group chief executive of Benefact Group, Mark Hews, said: "We know that £1,000 can make a huge difference to the incredible work that charities do and we’re looking forward to seeing how this financial boost will change lives for the better.”
In a post on the socut group's Facebook page, it read: "We are delighted to confirm that 1st Sutton Scout Group has been awarded £1000.00!
"Thank you so very much, to everyone who took the time to nominate us!
