A rare, preserved Victorian shop in Littleport is opening up for the UK’s Heritage Weekend and inviting families to drop by to design their own shop front as part of a drawing project about the country's changing high streets.
As part of this national weekend, Adams Heritage Centre, a new emerging arts and heritage venue, is open for free.
On Tuesday September 12, Littleport Camera Club is inviting people to drop in and see the work they are doing. They are digitally cataloguing all of the items held here from 11am – 1pm.
On the following weekend, Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September, families are being invited to drop in and take part in a community drawing project called ‘Design Your High Street’.
Littleport Society are displaying packaging and adverts from past shops that filled the village as inspiration.
The Two Crows folk duo are providing music to liven up the shop on Main Street and Littleport Women’s Institute are serving cakes and goodies from 1-4pm.
Visit www.adamsheritagecentre.co.uk or the centre's Facebook page for upcoming events and drop ins.
