South East Cambridgeshire MP Lucy Frazer MP paid a visit to Cineworld Ely on Friday (1 September) to mark Saturday’s National Cinema Day.
Founded by the cross-industry body Cinema First, National Cinema Day is an annual celebration and an opportunity for people to enjoy a discounted price of £3 for a ticket.
Cineworld Ely was one of more than 630 cinemas that took part across the country.
Ms Frazer spent time speaking with staff about their experiences working at the cinema, before learning how best to serve popcorn.
After the visit, she said: “This year, people have been flocking to cinemas to see the big new releases, and in the process, many have been reminded of the joy of cinema.
“Cineworld Ely at the Ely Leisure Village is a fantastic and accessible venue to experience the latest films and I enjoyed marking National Cinema Day with staff and visiting constituents.
Cineworld Ely general manager, Michelle Patten said: “We are thrilled to acknowledge the visit of MP Lucy Frazer to Cineworld Ely in support of the highly successful National Cinema Day."
