The Ely-based charity Pride in Ely returns to the city with "more, more, more" later this month - and, best of all, the event is free to attend.

Over the last year, the team have been working hard to plan and fundraise to provide the community with an event like never before.

With a full day and night of celebrations taking place on July 29, attendees can expect a jam-packed schedule to please the whole family.

For the first time ever, the event will run from 10am to 10pm, meaning that attendees get 12 hours of Pride fun and games.

Kicking off at 10am at Jubilee Gardens and The Maltings, attendees will find entertainment on both the main and acoustic stages throughout the day.

There will also be a craft market, street food market, the return of the fun zone - featuring bouncy castles, emergency service vehicles, face painting and more - as well as activities for the whole family.

Then, from 5-6pm, there will be an opportunity to chill out, grab some food and drink from the street food zone and listen to some tunes ahead of the festival's new live evening event on Jubilee Gardens.

From 6pm, guests can enjoy some pop-up cabaret, which will showcase some of the country's finest entertainers, including bands and acrobats.

The street food market and alcohol stalls will remain until 10pm to keep visitors fuelled for fun.

As if that wasn't enough, there will also be a cheesy pride disco in The Maltings from 9.30pm until gone midnight. Tickets cost £6.

Alcohol and street food vendors will remain open throughout the evening event, along with the Pride in Ely.

Kiera Delaney, trustee of Pride in Ely, said: "It’s a day full of fun for everyone, whether you are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community or not.

"People of all ages are welcome, too. Just bring an open mind and heart."

Sandy Fosh, one of the organisers, added: "We rely on the support of our community to provide events such as this.

"It's not too late to volunteer for this year's event or for future activities and events."
