A great weekend of music, dance and fun is just around the corner with Ely Folk Festival 2023 kicking off tomorrow - and, luckily, tickets will be available on the gate from 1pm.
Taking place from July 7-9 at its new home on the Stuntney Estate, a free shuttle bus will run between the festival site, tail station and city centre (near Ely Cathedral) over the weekend.
The festival line-up showcases the diversity of British folk and roots music. It includes folk punk band Ferocious Dog, folk royalty Eliza Carthy Trio, reggae and folk fusion with Edward II, bluegrass energy with The Often Herd, electro blues with Funke and the Two Tone Baby, transatlantic folk with Cambridge band The Willows and lots more.
As well as great music, the festival hosts three ceilidhs, morris dance displays, children’s activities, workshops, a real ale bar, club tent and a food and craft trader area.
Camping is available at the festival, which is dog-friendly, and a free shuttle bus connects the festival site to Ely rail station and city centre.
Festival spokesperson Fionnuala Lennon said: "We cut our teeth with the new festival site last year and are really looking forward to welcoming visitors back to the wonderful green and family-friendly setting of Stuntney Estate.
"The music line-up this year is really great, and there will be lots going on around the festival site to entertain the whole family."
