A philosophical exhibition from a young curator will open towards the end of the month at the Babylon Gallery in Ely.
Beth Haysom, with guidance from the Babylon Young Curators programme, has put together a thought-provoking exhibition inspired by the African philosophy of Ubuntu.
Its direct translation into English 'I Am Because We Are' is the title of the exhibition which will be available at the riverside gallery between June 29 and July 23.
Beth said: “The exhibition explores this idea that we are all connected. I have found a great selection of artists, whose work holds similar ideas to this.
“I think there is a really interesting range of interpretations, which is reflected in the different styles and mediums.
“I hope that people feel moved by the exhibition, and think about their own lives and connections to others.”
The Babylon Young Curators programme aims to help the next generation of creatives gain experience of working in the art world.
The Babylon Gallery is open to the public from Tuesday – Sunday, 12 – 4pm. Entry is free.
