A drug dealer who hid his stash of cocaine in a sock has been jailed.
Sendrit Ponari was pulled over by police on Lynn Road, Ely, on February 20 after checks revealed the car he was driving was involved in suspected drug deals.
Inside the car officers found 27 wraps of cocaine hidden in a black sock as well as £200 in cash and a mobile phone.
At Peterborough Crown Court on Wednesday (May 24), Ponari (20), of Stanstead Road, London, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison after previously pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply drugs, driving without a licence and insurance.
Detective Constable Niamh Spendiff, who investigated, said: “We have a vital role in preventing drugs from reaching our streets and ensuring those responsible are brought to justice and the public can play a vital part in this work too. Please continue to report your concerns and suspicions to us.”
