A Littleport firefighter is to run the London Marathon in full 15-20kg kit with breathing apparatus strapped to his back in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity.
Crew member Tom Bridge-Street said the London Marathon is "always something that I have wanted to tick off my bucket list".
Having been awarded a balloted place in the 2023 marathon, he thought 'why not try and make as much as I can for charity?'
"I said to myself if I gained a place in the marathon I would run in full firefighter structural kit along with a breathing apparatus set.
"Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service have agreed and all the money I raise will be given to the Fire Fighters Charity.
"They provide specialist life-long support for members of the UK's fire services community, empowering individuals to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives."

At the weekend, a disco was held at Littleport Ex-Servicemen’s Club in aid of his fundraiser.
Following the event's success, Tom said: "Thank you to everyone who donated a prize for the raffle."
He said that "a massive effort" resulted in raising a "huge" £1,107 on ticket sales, raffles, cake auction and change given at the end.
"Along with people who donated to my JustGiving page on the night, you have raised £1,157."
Tom thanked the venue for giving him the hall for free and Derek Timbers for "dragging himself out of retirement to do the disco and did most of the leg work in getting the night organised".
He also thanked Nicola Bridge-Street and Sarah Kate for selling raffle tickets at the door.
The marathon takes place on April 23.
