The City of Ely Women's Institute (WI) have kicked off a busy 2023 welcoming more new members to make an almost full group and actively raising awareness of the effects of climate change throughout Ely.
The group have been showcasing crafted green hearts in the city at Sessions House on Lynn Road and inside the Ely Library foyer to raise awareness and highlight the need to take action.
President Sheila Willson said: "We have had a really active year so far, with plenty more to come.
"Our WI is a great community, and we look forward to getting involved in many different things and all of the social events we run."
"If anyone is considering joining us, then do get in touch.”

Earlier in February, at a meeting, members were treated to an "inspirational" talk by author Jeanette Moser, learning about her background, travels, career, highs and lows.
The group is now busy making plans for International Women's day on March 8 and have a newly launched book club coming up with plans for a Coronation craft bomb in Ely to look forward to.
The WI's next meeting, titled "My treasured life", takes place on March 13, and for more information or to join, visit www.wielycity.wixsite.com/home.
