Almost £1,500 has been raised for two charities thanks to a village café.
Nellie’s Community Café presented £1,010 to CPSL Mind and £487 to Sutton Cricket Club at a presentation day on November 9.
Jon Megginson, colts manager at Sutton CC, said: “The ladies’ team will be gaining a newly trained to ECB level one coach, so this money will go towards this and some hardball cricket kit and the expanding number of youngsters always need more kit.
Maggie Devine, of Sutton and volunteer for CPSL Mind, thanked Nellie’s for their support towards CPSL Mind and its customers.
Nellie’s Community Café, held on the second Wednesday and last Friday of each month at Scott Court, Pound Lane in Sutton, chooses two charities to support every six months.
The next two charities to receive support from the café are Friends of Sutton School and the Royal Papworth Hospital Charity.
