RIPLEY - Jean Marguerite (nee Firby) of Elvington, York, formerly of Littleport, Cambs. Passed peacefully away at Meadowbeck Care Home, Osbaldwick, York on Sunday 18th March 2018 aged 75 years following a short terminal illness. Wife of the late John, Sister of Iris and Sandra, Aunt to Sara and Kate, Great Aunt to Reece and Hayden. Pupil of The Mount School, York, teacher at Hob Moor and Woodthorpe Primary Schools for many years, a dedicated needlewoman who will be sadly missed by her family and friends. A cremation service celebrating her life will be held at Bishopthorpe Crematorium on Friday 20th April 2018 at 1.30pm followed by refreshments at Elvington Village Hall. Please wear bright colours for spring time. Family flowers only, donations in lieu for St. Leonards Hospice, York. A plate will provided at the service or donations can be sent to J Rymer Funeral Directors, 15 Penleys Grove Street, Monkgate, York, YO31 7PW.
